Prayer Requests

Breaking Silence

Initially I was posting this in community discussion, decided to move it here when I thought a bit more about it.

I'm just writing a thread to ask how everyone's holding up. I know there's a fine line in present circumstances between sharing on that level and falling into unhelpful, uncharitable comments and ways of thinking, so I understand why we've been quiet here the past few days - but at the same time it's probably more important now than ever that we maintain some sort of community and support in growing in holiness.

To avoid those occasions of sin without wanting to avoid each other or the issues, maybe in this thread we could share prayer intentions - both on a personal level and intercessory? I'll start and if you want to join in please post your intentions too!

So I suppose obviously one thing were all going to have to do is redouble prayer and penance for the Friars... without despair, our God is One of Miracles!! I can't elaborate on that as i get my info from ye so I'll leave it to the American contingent to let us know if there is any more specific intention in their regards we can get behind!

I'd also like to ask prayers in a particular way for the (FSSP) priest who was my confessor in Geneva, he sent us (there was an email list for weekly notices) the most wise and paternal but heartbreaking email Saturday night and has been really on my heart for prayer since. For all the graces he needs and will need...

And on a personal level I'd like to ask for prayer as to the discernment of what Jesus wants me to do at this time in order to be most fruitful at the service of the Church. That's a semi-vocational, semi-simply-pertaining-to-disposition-of-heart discernment. The absurdity of the situation has this bizarre effect of increasing my desire but confusing my understanding of how to offer everything to Jesus.

Ok so if this isn't just a weird idea, I'd love to know how i can pray for each and all of you, please do comment if something's on your heart!

God bless

Sorry my reply is so slow, internet access has been very sporadic the past few days so I tend to look at things and not get a chance to reply immediately, but I did see and have been praying. How are things now - with Steve, yourself and your daughter's family?

As for me and America, in God's time it would be lovely to see you all but I've surrendered even whether or not I'll even be able to travel as far as Ireland again in the near future, as things continue to get more and more strange... At this point in time all that really matters is obedience to the Holy Spirit and whilst it has been scary taking the risks that has meant - God is very faithful. I'm finding my feet here nicely and Providence has seen to so many details I have no doubt as to His being in all. But I believe I need prayer not to miss cues and to recognise and respond to grace and co-operate effectively so that the longer term plan will unfold without me getting in the way...

That's beautiful about St. Anne's and I'm glad the bishop there isn't blocking things... I see that's the case in a lot of places thank God. Here too the Traditional chapel has been given the go ahead to continue as usual... Even so reading the different statements of bishops made me feel terrible because it's a right their authority shouldn't be granting and withdrawing, which kinda forces even the nice ones into a role like a benevolent dictator... anyway we pray!!
