I can definitely relate to the struggles of mental prayer, both in keeping focus and in having subjects to meditate on. I look forward to hearing from friars insight and experience on this for sure! After Father mentioning 'The Seraphic Guide', I by chance found a copy for reference online, https://archive.org/details/seraphicguideman00unse. It contains some pages on meditation that I found helpful, and I'm sure all would benefit if not already aware. Friar Anthony had mentioned about a similar sort of book containing the rule/prayers, likely based from this, and I was wondering if this content regarding mental prayer is contained in that newly printed book? Anyway, as another aside, I also found this book: https://www.amazon.com/Humility-Heart-Cajetan-Mary-Bergamo/dp/0895557665/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=humility+of+heart&qid=1622282772&sr=8-1, written by a Capuchin to be of great value in meditation. It's structured like the imitation of Christ, in small digestible paragraphs that are packed with truth.
