Roman Pilgrimage

cancelled due to international travel instability

November 9-17, 2020

Walking Pilgrimage of Rome

We will be seeking out the many saints and holy sites to be venerated in Rome as we make our way on foot through the Capital City of our Holy Faith. Being the center of 2,000 years of our Catholic faith, every side street seems to have something to offer the pious pilgrim.  Many visit this Holy City only as religious tourists but for centuries Christians have walked to Rome, some even died there, all with the one hope of being able to kneel, even if only for a moment, at the tombs of the Apostles.  Many popes have given the very soil of Rome to distinguished persons as a precious relic, being made holy , as it was, by the blood of the martyrs.  Today its streets and sidewalks, and its many churches have been graced by innumerable heroes of the faith.  Therefore it is our hope not to offer just one pilgrimage to Rome but 8 pilgrimages in Rome, and one to the Venerable city of Assisi.

We will visit all the major basilicas and principle holy sites, walking the same paths that the multitudes of Christians pilgrims and saints have walked before us. We will Rome as they visited it, kneeling where they knelt and praying where they prayed.

We will be staying at a bed and breakfast 10 minutes on foot from St. Peters Basilica, in the charming Trastevere district, the oldest part of Rome. The cost includes bed and breakfast for 8 nights, Rome city tax, travel to and from the airport, tickets to the Vatican Museum, the Scavi tour of the Roman Necropolis under St. Peter's Basilica, where St. Peter's bones are, the excavation site under St. Clement's Minor Basilica, and the Catacombs of St. Callixtus, as well as travel cost to and from Assisi.

The pilgrimage will be led and guided by Friar Anthony, who, having lived for many years in Italy and himself, has led numerous pilgrims though the streets of Rome.  Authentic Christian Pilgrimage is very dear to Friar Anthony and it is his joy to share this ancient tradition with you.

Cost: $830 per person, that is about $92 a day. (Airline Tickets are at your own expense; and need to be purchased ASAP, please first call or email Friar Anthony for details (currently tickets are just under $900.) Deadline to sign up is Sept 8, 2020, at which time all pilgrimage fees will need to be paid in full.
